Taylor decided today she would give HERSELF a haircut!!! She took the scissors and cut her left side of her hair very, very short. So that act forced me to give her an extremely (for her) short haircut to blend in the problem area and make her look “normal” again. I admit I had to laugh, it reminds me of when I was 5 years old and in Kindergarten when me and a couple of girls decided to play “Barber” and we proceeded to cut chunks of our hair to our scalp!! Anyway, here are some pictures of Taylor’s “new” hairdo. She likes it and so do I, hopefully I did an okay job on her cut?? As you can see, Taylor had fun posing. I asked her if I could take her picture and she started doing all these poses, a natural model, or maybe it is the new short HAIRDO!
Our Little Swimmers
We have been bringing the kids swimming at our gym the last 2 weeks to get Taylor ready to start her first swimming lessons in April. We went yesterday and the kids had a blast. We were taking turns with the kids dunking them, getting them used to putting their face in the water, and kicking their feet. Taylor asked for goggles so she could see in the water. So, Scott got out of the pool and went and bought goggles for all 3 kids at the front desk. Here is Taylor and Christian modeling their goggles (Luke doesn’t like to wear his yet). As many of you know, we are still attempting to potty train Christian. To give him incentive to sit or stand at the potty Scott told him he would wear his goggles when he goes potty. I have to tell you it is the funniest sight, Christian standing naked at the potty with his swimming goggles on. He can see himself in the mirror so he makes faces at himself, anything to make the time pass faster I guess!
Hello to friends Aleksia and Bryn
Taylor, Christian and Luke miss their friends Aleksia and Bryn. Here is a special video they made for them. We miss you! See you soon!

Christian’s Solo Performance
Here is Christian in a rare solo performance! Typically he only sings with Taylor or myself, but he decided to give us a real treat and sing for us his rendition of both “Twinkle, Twinkle” and “Jesus Loves Me”. You can see little Luke comes in and accompanies Christian with the triangle instrument for some added flavor! At the end I told him to ”take a bow” and he promptly started singing “take a bow” not understanding what I meant…so cute! Hope you enjoy!
Taylor and Christian’s Band
For Christmas, Taylor, Christian, and Luke received a Melissa and Doug First Band Set from Mommy and Daddy. Here is Taylor and Christian playing two of the instruments from this set. As you can see, they are actually pretty good, in that they can find the beat to the song. Not too bad….for 4 and 2 years old. They love to sing!
Taylor and Christian Playing in the Snow with Daddy
Taylor and Christian had a lot of fun playing in the snow with Daddy a couple of weeks ago. We don’t get snow very often (that actually stays that is) so when it does snow here we take advantage. As you can see, we did get a fair amount for this part of the country.
Why is it that “the box” is what fascinates kids the most?
Last night we received our 2nd delivery of Christmas gifts for the day. The second delivery was that of one very huge box complete with packing peanuts–loads of fun for very two active and excited kids. Taylor and Christian with much excitement proceeded to take all of the gifts out of the big box, run down the hall to the family room where the Christmas Tree is and in an orderly fashion place the gifts underneath the tree. You see they are skilled at this task by this time as they had done this task just hours before. Christian was so excited and working so hard that his breathing became a bit labored. I don’t know if it was from all the gifts he was carrying back and forth, or from trying to navigate his way down a hallway littered with toys, or from the prospect that at the end of all his hard work he would be able to play in that very gigantic box complete with packing peanuts! Not to my surprise, once the job at hand was completed, Christian went down the hall back to the front door one last time and halled that very big box into the family room where we found him inside (how he got inside we do not know–except for Taylor’s confession of pushing him into the box). Taylor then asked for help inside the box where they spent a good 20 minutes in pure bliss! I remember those days as a child myself, the excitement of playing inside the box the gifts came in! My parents often mused that they could have saved a lot of money by simply purchasing a plain old Big Brown Box.
“Gingerbread Man House”
The making of the “Gingerbread Man House” as the kids like to call it. They had a blast making this, or shall I say, eating all the goodies that was supposed to go on the house. They were far more interested in eating all the candies than actually making the house. As you can see by the picture it is not quite finished. We only have the windows shown, the entire backside of the house is windowless as Christian decided he would rather eat the windows…oh well! Mom and Dad had fun making the house as well and were thankful the supplies ran out….how long can 2 adults really decorate a Gingerbread house with 3 kids–4 years old and under and stay sane? I ask you and am here to tell you about 20 minutes or until the candy runs out…whichever comes first…and in our case…the candy ran out. So we are proud to display our half finished “Gingerbread Man House”, besides it is not about the house as it is about making memories!
